A 600-watt solar panel will provide between 1,600 watt-hours (1.6 kilowatt-hours, or 1.6 kWh) and 2,400 watt-hours (2.4 kWh) of DC power each day in real-world conditions, depending on your location. Using the peak solar hour number for your area, you may get the precise value for where you reside. In general, a city like Cornwall receives 3 peak sun hours (PSH) every day. Simply multiply the panel wattage by the number of PSH – 600 W x 3 PSH – and we get 1,800 watt-hours (1.8 kWh) as the daily average energy production.
You can connect solar panels in either series or parallel to suit your electrical circuit size and power requirements. Connecting them in series adds up the operating voltage output, while the system current output remains the same as that of a single panel. On the other hand, connecting them in parallel adds up the individual panel's operating current output, while the system output voltage remains the same as that of a single panel. For optimal power output and system rating, a combination of both parallel and series connections can be used.
