It is important to ensure that the open circuit voltage of the panel will not exceed the max DC input voltage rating of the power station or charge controller.

The choice between connecting solar panels in series or parallel depends on your specific setup and requirements.
- Series connection: Connecting solar panels in series increases the voltage output while keeping the current the same. This is useful when you need to increase voltage to match the requirements of your charge controller or inverter.
- Parallel connection: Connecting solar panels in parallel increases the current output while keeping the voltage the same. This is beneficial when you want to maximize the current for charging batteries or powering devices directly.

But please note that it cannot exceed the solar input range of your power station

The best way to gauge how many solar panels you need, is to understand and define the power load needed from this system. Power is measured in Watt, and capacity is commonly measured in Watt-hours (multiplying power output in watts by the required number of hours of operation multiplied by a safety factor of 1.5-2). Therefore, it is wise to size your battery bank first based on the minimum required capacity, and accordingly decide how many panels or how much power input is needed.
